Description
An ethnography of the French supreme court in administrative law, the Conseil d'Etat, has been pursued between 1994 and 1999. This book is the account of this field work attempting to make a thick description of the work of judges as they come to an agreement about files. The book represents a sort of Laboratory life’ of judges at work and tries to compare the type of objectivity reached in science laboratories with a very different but highly specific type of objectivity in the law. It is also an effort to characterize the juridical enunciation and thus a contribution to the long term enquiry into the comparison of regimes of enunciation
